Action Against Hunger—Who Are We?

Action Against Hunger USA is part of the Action Against Hunger International Network, which is coordinated from five headquarters--London, Madrid, Montreal, New York, and Paris.

For more than 25 years Action Against Hunger has pursued its vision of a world without hunger, saving the lives of malnourished children and families while seeking long-term sustainable solu-tions to hunger. Recognized as a world leader in the fight against hunger and malnutrition, Action Against Hunger responds to emergency situations of war, conflict and natural disaster.

Our innovative programs in nutrition, food security, water and sanitation, health care, and advocacy reach more than 4 million people a year in more than 40 countries, helping vulnerable populations regain their dignity, self-sufficiency, and independence.

Examples of Our Worldwide Projects

• In 2006, we assisted more than a quarter-million beneficiaries
  in the war-torn Democratic Republic of the Congo alone.
  
  
• Within a week of the 2005 earthquake in Asia, we set up a mission
  and delivered 30 tons of food and water supplies to thousands of
  newly homeless Pakistanis.
  
  
• Following a 2005 hurricane in Haiti, we set up water-and-sanitation
  sources to benefit 40,000 victims.
  
  
• Within 48 hours of the 2004 Southeast Asian tsunami, we airlifted
  150 tons of food, and supplies to desperate survivors.
